Hydra Healing Gel provides the water part of the balanced skin equation. The ingredients in it are 1000 times more hydrating than water alone, and they easily absorb into the layers of your skin!

How to Use

Simply use it after washing your face and before applying any mists, serums or moisturizers.
After applying the gel, apply a moisturizer or a serum to lock in the hydrating ingredients.
Hydra Healing Skin Rescue Gel absorbs fast and can be worked into your AM or PM routine.

Troubleshooting Tip

Applying a lot of the gel will create a "mask" effect without trying. To some, this makes their skin feel "tight" - this is just the gel sitting on top of the skin and not absorbing thoroughly.
To remedy this, mix the Gel with your moisturizer or serum (about 1/3 gel, 2/3 moisturizer or serum) in your hand before applying. This allows the gel's hydrating properties to blend with your moisturizer or serum so your skin can absorb it at a pace that allows all the gel to be absorbed (i.e. no mask effect!)

Extra Tip: How to use your Hydra Healing Gel as a mask

Apply a thick layer of the gel after washing your face.
Leave it on until it’s fully dry.
Wash off with lukewarm water.

What you need to know about dehydration:

Dehydrated skin is different from dry skin. Dry skin can be cured with moisturizers. Dehydrated skin, on the other hand, has a lack of water (not oils), and a moisturizer isn’t enough. That’s where my hydrating products come in.

It is possible to have dry AND dehydrated skin. In fact, it’s quite common and just as common is dehydrated, OILY skin. My Hydra Healing Skin Rescue Gel is the answer to super dehydrated skin! Where mists and serums are great for mild to moderate dehydration, the Hydra Healing Gel is for severely dehydrated skin as well as chronic dehydration.

If you feel like no matter how much you moisturize, your skin is still flaky, congested, overly dry or overly oily (even to the point of feeling constantly greasy), and never feels smooth - it’s time to hydrate your skin!

Dehydrated skin can lead to all kinds of problems including breakouts (see below), congested pores, poor circulation, and poor texture. It also means your natural acid mantle can’t do its job: protecting you!

But wait, I have a question!

“But my skin is oily! The last thing I need is a hydration mist, serum, or gel!”

Think again! Often, the skin produces excess oil as a response to being dehydrated!

“But isn’t a moisturizer enough?”

Rarely. Moisturizers don’t penetrate as deeply as a hydrating product can. If your skin is dry even after moisturizing regularly, you need to add a hydrating product to your routine.

“I can’t use this! I have acne-prone skin!”

Actually, it might be just what your acne-prone skin needs to balance itself! Many people break out due to dry skin! Why? Because when your skin is dry and flaky, there’s a huge increase in dead skin cells sitting on the top of your pores (not to mention all the skin cells that slough off inside your pores!). Those dead skin cells clog up your pores and block oils from exiting your pores (and tada! You have yourself a pimple!). By adding a hydrating product to your routine, it can penetrate deep into the layers of your skin and hydrate the layers that your moisturizer hasn’t been able to reach. I used Grounded Sage's hydra healing skin rescue gel alongside the facial moisturizer of the same name. After a month or so of daily use, it felt harder on my skin, like it was tough. Perhaps it could be due to winter/change in seasons. But likewise, I wouldn't rate this product higher for the same reason. I have acne-prone, sensitive skin with facial oil problems. Due to this, during spring and summer, I tend to have more acne from the buildup of oil. This causes my healing acne, acne scars, and the like to leave my face's pigment redder than my neck/rest of my body. This combination of skincare is to help elevate these problems. I am 57 years' old but could pass for 15 years less than that (on a good day, anyway but I've avoided the sun since I was 16 so that helps). Unfortunately, I started to develop rosacea in my 40s and it's just gotten worse. If you're looking for a moisturizer that calms your skin, I'd highly recommend this one!!!

This was the 1st product I bought from this company because after reading some of their blogs I learned after 30 y.o. that you should use a hydrator under moisturizing. After years of oily skin when I was young, I hated using lotions or anything to add shine to my face. I was constantly using toners & astringents trying to cleanse. Once I became a beauty professional I learned better... but we were taught to cleanse, tone, moisturize/serum at night. The formula has changed several times over the years in color and/or by scent that I have been using this with Batty and now with Grounded Sage, but I still swear by it.

Always in my cabinet I first came to this line because of this particular product. It really helps if you’re acne prone with dehydrated skin. I have since found that my skin calls for the Calendula Gentle Gel Hydrator more often, unless I’m finding my acne is flaring up. Sometimes I use this in the morning and the Calendula at night, especially during a seasonal change to keep my pores under control.

Amazing First off, let me state that I’m SOOO glad the formula has been returned to its original, because i was devastated when it was changed — I hated that slimy, sticky, yucky consistency that it was changed to... That being stated, the Hydra Healing Gel is a staple in my routine! I’ve tried several of the other hydrators, but this one is by far the best one for my skin as a Desert Marigold/Daylily. I never knew about needing to hydrate in addition to moisturizing my skin, but it has definitely been the missing piece to my skincare routine. Now, my skin is less oily, it glows healthily, and my acne marks have disappeared! I no longer need to wear face makeup, and I used to never leave the house without it, because i was so self-conscious about the texture & appearance of my skin. Not only that, when my 6 month old daughter recently developed a scabby diaper rash on her sensitive parts, the Hydra Healing Gel (plus patchouli cream) literally healed her rash by the next diaper change! soothing & healing I didn't know how crucial hydrating was until I tried Batty's Bath products. My skin feels more supple, and I'm noticing past acne marks fading faster. I also feel it does help to keep oil at bay, which is something that seems so counter-intuitive but makes sense for us oily but dehydrated people. I get the sense that my skin is more sensitive than I realized and also in need of a more potent hydration, so I will try the calendula hydrator to compare - I think it would be perfect for most people though.

Holy Grail Product! This product is everything! I ordered this product with the detox kit in my very first Batty's Bath purchase (2 years ago), and I haven't stopped ordering it! I apply the gel after a serum every evening. If I have a pimple coming on, I dab some on it, over my moisturizer, and leave it overnight and it's literally almost gone in the morning. I've been in the green world for a few years now and decided to finally buy something online as opposed to stopping by Winners or Marshalls and combing through the beauty aisle because it's so expensive to buy from natural stores around here and those two stores usually have really good deals on natural products! It makes my face sting and feel itchy and the same time if I use it twice and day and every day. I do like that it's light and scent free and absorbs quickly. I think it might be better if it came in a pump bottle too.

Hydration is key Thank you, Batty's Bath, for teaching me the importance of hydration, and the difference between hydrating and moisturizing. It makes a world of difference. This is a great product and a little goes a long way (it took me a little while to figure that out). I don't like to overdo it on this, because too much product makes it go on sticky. When I ran out of my first jar of this product I realized how big a difference it really makes, and ordered my next jar right away. I actually think I need a more heavy-duty hydrator than this, so I ordered the Calendula Gentle Gel Hydrator to use a few times a week, and will use the Hydra Healing Gel the rest of the time. I'm excited to see how these two products work together.

Has healed my overly dry cheeks I have combination rosacea skin and my cheeks were so dry and filled with red bumps. I started using this gel a couple of month's ago and my cheeks immediately sucked this product in like a vacuum. After using it every day for the past couple of months, my cheeks are no longer dried right out. Even my rosacea bumps have almost cleared completely and it doesn't cause my oily T zone to act up either. It doesn't clog my pores and I can use it all over my face, not just on my cheeks. At first I needed to use quite a bit of gel because my face sucked it in so quickly once applied but now I don't need much at all to cover my entire face.

Miracle hydrator One of my favorite skincare products ever. A couple of months ago, I ran out of this before my next order arrived, and within a few days, I noticed a huge difference in my skin; in a bad way! It started getting really dry, and dull. Must Have With severe dry skin, this has become a basic necessity for me. While detoxing, I couldn't really tell if this was helping because the product sat on top of my skin. It wasn't until a couple of months that I began noticing how my skin absorbs this stuff! It helps keep my skin supple after I lock it in with a moisturizer. Don't get discouraged if you don't feel instant change, especially while detoxing. I had to learn to be patient with this one and now I know I can't go without it. 5 stars!

Extra Hydration I bought this after I found the Acne B.O.P. mist just wasn't cutting it anymore. The Hydra Healing Skin Rescue Gel definitely helped, though I still feel my skin is aching for extra hydration. Nonetheless, this gel helped me when I thought I could just relieve my dryness from a moisturiser. Not so! Definitely worth a try if you feel like you need a bit more hydration than a mist. My only comment is that, when my skin feels extra dry, it sometimes feels very strong on my face when I initially apply it, but it subsides quickly.

No matter how much I exfoliated and moisturized, the bumps wouldn't go away - clearly because I was missing an important step! I haven't noticed a decrease in oil production, but the Hydra Healing gel also helps with my dry, flaky skin. Great product!

So Far So Good I just started using this a couple weeks ago. It definitely calms my pimples down throughout the day, which aren't very many. (I'm pretty sure they're due to Hormones anyway) I like to use Aloe Vera from my garden, but the process is pretty messy, so this is a nice alternative. I can't tell if it's hydrating my skin because I use a number of other products, i.e. Alaffia's Purifying Coconut Facial Cleanser, Alaffia's Everday Coconut Reishi Rose Toning Mist, a mix of ACV + water, MyChelle Perfect C Serum, a mix of argan + Tamanu oil with Veridita's w/Rose Regenerative Facial Oil, and Batty's Raw Radiance Moisturizer. I know it seems like a lot, lol, but I only use a tiny bit of each. I'm slowly converting over to a Batty's only routine, so I'll update in a couple months.

My Favourite Batty's Product! The Hydra Healing Gel is amazing! I'm on my third bottle of it and can't be without it. I spritz my face with toner and while still damp apply the Hydra Gel. This seemed the best way for me to not get flaking from over applying the Gel. Use it day and night and it is so hydrating and calming on my mild rosacea and very sensitive skin. It also works beautifully on eczema and psoriasis along with the Patchouli Cream. During the hot summer months just pop it in the fridge and it makes a wonderfully cool treat for your skin especially under the eyes. It leaves your skin feeling and looking so hydrated and smooth. Would highly recommend this and will absolutely be repurchasing!

Refreshing and Healing! I bought this product in conjunction with the primer moisturizer (morning) and the patchouli moisturizer (evening). I use it on my face before applying the moisturizers. I had small psoriasis spots that were flaky and red on my cheeks. This product got rid of them! It took about a month of continued use - but my skin is the best it has been in a very long time! I highly recommend it!

Wonderful hydrator I'm half way through the jar and already bought more. I'm glad I saw the YouTube video that suggested to lightly tap your finger on the gel to get a smaller amount because I think I was using too much.
