Sage is one of nature’s best remedies for oily skin. It contains powerful properties, including active compounds like antibacterial linalyl acetate and antimicrobial geranyl, that combat harmful bacteria on the skin while naturally reducing excess oil production.
Hydrating aloe vera helps to dissolve excess oil and impurities from the pores while you cleanse, thanks to its natural astringent properties. It also replenishes water loss to tight, uncomfortable skin without further stripping the skin of its essential lipid barrier.
Patchouli oil is known for its ability to combat skin irritations, excess oil, acne, and inflammation. It provides strong anti-inflammatory relief to reduce pain and irritation caused by breakouts. It also has antifungal and antibacterial properties, essential for keeping oily-prone skin calm and clear. Patchouli oil won’t clog pores and can help balance sebum production.
Lemongrass, a natural astringent that controls excess oil, has the bonus of helping to control shine for oily skin types. It’s loaded with antioxidants that help protect the skin against the stress of free radicals and environmental damage (like UV and pollution).
We’ve also included witch hazel in our Clarifying Sage Facial Cleanser formula. Witch hazel contains polyphenol, which protects our skin against UV damage. Witch hazel has natural astringent properties, which can help remove excess sebum (without stripping the skin) and reduce inflammation associated with unchecked bacteria.
How to Use: Wet face with water. Avoid hot water, as this will dry out your skin. Opt for lukewarm water instead. Massage the cleanser around your face in circular motions. The optimal time to cleanse your face is roughly 1 minute. Rise off with water and pat dry with a clean facial towel.
